Last month I made the decision to go on a 20- day social media hiatus to reboot.
I noticed my presence on social media was getting higher than my personal life which was a red flag! Being that my fiancé doesn’t use social media, it came across as an addiction. Without hesitation I logged out of all of my social media accounts.
In the midst of being an entrepreneur I am planning my fall wedding and realized certain things needed my attention. Bottom line is I needed time to re-prioritize the things that are most important without any distractions.
Taking 20 days off of social media was exactly what I needed and more. I didn’t realize how addicted I was until I attempted to click on the app to post a pic of my food on IG story and couldn’t.
I was able to really FOCUS on my wedding plans, spend more time with my fiancé without any distractions, and follow through on my goals during the 20 days.
I encourage you....
While social media is great, I encourage you to take some time to live life without it every once in a while. Even if it’s for a few days to a week. Trust me, it’s worth it.
Now that I’m back on social media I’ve set some boundaries for myself. For example, getting off of IG, Snapchat, Facebook, etc. at a certain time daily.
How can you set healthy boundaries/ limits when using social media?
